Our Lady of Victory Catholic School serves students in Transitional Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Our community provides a rigorous, faith-filled Catholic education that forms students to become faithful Catholics, active learners, self-motivated individuals, and globally aware citizens.
We are seeking a part-time Junior High Math and Science Teacher to join our team. The teacher will provide a developmentally appropriate educational program for students in grades 5–8 that supports their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator or recent graduate to make a meaningful impact by fostering a positive learning environment, delivering engaging instruction, and helping students strengthen their mathematical reasoning, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving skills.
Our Lady of Victory is part of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Department of Catholic Schools’ Solidarity Schools Initiative, Cohort 1. This initiative has demonstrated success in improving student performance in mathematics and reading. The selected candidate will receive training and instructional coaching to implement the following program components with fidelity:
- Illustrative Mathematics is a problem-based math curriculum for grades K–8 designed to foster student engagement, critical thinking, and real-world application.
- Success for All is a comprehensive reading program that will be extended to middle school this year. It develops foundational reading and comprehension skills, supports students’ social-emotional well-being, and uses cooperative learning strategies to increase engagement across content areas.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, mathematics, science, or a related field
- Valid teaching credential and/or master’s degree in education or a related field preferred, but not required
- Candidates enrolled in a teacher preparation program are welcome to apply
- Previous classroom experience, especially at the middle school or junior high level, preferred
- Experience teaching mathematics and/or science preferred
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus
- Willingness to grow professionally and attend required trainings
- Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Our Lady of Victory School

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
