Our Mother of Good Counsel School, a TK to 8 Catholic school in the heart of Los Feliz, is seeking a passionate, creative, and faith-filled Part-Time STEM Teacher to teach Math and Science to 7th and 8th grade students for the 2025–2026 school year.
OMGC is rooted in the Augustinian tradition and dedicated to forming students who think critically, serve humbly, and live faithfully. We are looking for an educator who brings strong content knowledge and instructional experience, with experience or open to incorporate Project-Based Learning (PBL) and station rotation models, to create meaningful, engaging learning experiences for middle school students.
Position Overview:
Title: Part-Time Middle School STEM Teacher
Grade Levels: 7th and 8th Grade
Subjects: Math (Pre-Algebra and Algebra I) and Science (Life, Earth, and Physical Science)
Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Schedule: Includes 3 to 4 instructional periods per day with additional prep and collaboration time
Start Date: August 2025 to June 2026
Reports to: Principal
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement rigorous STEM instruction aligned with CA standards and rooted in Catholic values
- Use Project-Based Learning and station rotation models to differentiate instruction and foster collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking
- Create a classroom culture of inquiry, responsibility, and mutual respect
- Incorporate technology and real-world connections into lessons to enhance engagement
- Collaborate with the 7th and 8th grade teaching team to support interdisciplinary planning and a cohesive student experience
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support academic and spiritual growth

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field or Education (Master’s preferred)
- Valid California Teaching Credential or working toward one
- Experience teaching middle school Math and/or Science
- Familiarity with or training in Project-Based Learning and station rotation instructional models
- Commitment to Catholic education and values
- Strong classroom management and a nurturing, professional presence
- VIRTUS Certification (may be completed to finalize hiring process)
- Fingerprinting at Archdiocese Location (may be completed to finalize hiring)
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
