Description
St. Mary Magdalen School is looking for a part time instructional assistant and yard supervisor. This is a part-time position of around 30 hours per week. The instructional aide supports the classroom teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, faith-filled, and academically engaging learning environment for students. The instructional aide works collaboratively with faculty and staff to support student learning, classroom management, and the mission of Catholic education. This position also includes yard supervision at lunch and afterschool in our extended care program.
The position is available for immediate start with hours M-F 11:30-4:30.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teachers with daily instructional activities and classroom preparation
- Support classroom management and promote positive student behavior
- Supervise and support students during lunch ensuring safe play and good sportsmanship.
- Assist with grading, record keeping, and clerical tasks as directed by the teacher
- Support students’ social, emotional, and spiritual development in accordance with Catholic values
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters
- Work with after school team
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development as requested

- High school diploma required; B.A. or A.A. preferred
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and parents
- Patience, flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
- Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
