Description

Notre Dame Academy High School in West Los Angeles is seeking a passionate part-time drama teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success teaching high school drama and professional acting experience.

Notre Dame Academy seeks a creative, organized, and experienced drama teacher who can work independently and collaboratively within the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) department, under the guidance of an experienced drama teacher. The VPA department is dynamic, collaborative, professional, and driven to enrich students’ lives through their development of their artistic talents. Teach two or more drama classes for high school or middle school students, participate in Fine Arts Night—a highly collaborative VPA performance and arts exhibition—and prepare students for the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California (DTASC) fall competition.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably BFA or MFA) in theatre, successful high school teaching experience, and professional acting experience. This individual must be innovative, dynamic, energetic, organized, flexible, and hard working, and he or she must embody a growth mindset. We seek faculty members who are intellectually curious, willing to grow professionally, student focused, dedicated to lifelong learning, and able to effectively collaborate with faculty, students, and parents to enhance our learning community.

At the high school, we challenge our graduates to be women of faith, academic excellence, vision, leadership, service, and compassion. In support of the educational principles of the Sisters of Notre Dame, we aim for all of our faculty, staff, and administrators to be learners, experts, and community builders.
