Description
We are seeking 2 reliable, dedicated, and hardworking custodians/ maintenance workers to join our school (am/pm shifts). This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring that the facilities are in excellent working order for our schoolchildren. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and have experience in custodial work and general maintenance tasks.
We are looking for individuals who will perform the following duties:
- daily sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, faculty lounge, and student lunch areas
- painting (as needed)
- minor repairs as needed (e.g. plumbing, AC, electrical, etc.)
- Conduct minor repairs on equipment, fixtures, and furniture
- setup/breakdown of tables/chairs and for events
- keeping inventory and stewardship of supplies and school furniture
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed while using cleaning materials and maintenance equipment.
- Report any major issues or necessary repairs to the principal
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum two years facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and basic repair skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects 50 lbs or more.
- Ability to frequently perform tasks that require climbing, crouching, kneeling, stooping and bending.
- Ability to stand and walk for sustained periods of time
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
