Description
Our Lady of Refuge seeks a Part-Time Bookkeeper / Office Assistant to support the administrative and financial operations of the school. This hourly position (approximately 15–25 hours per week) requires the maintaining of accurate financial records, assisting the principal with payroll and tuition management, and providing general office support in alignment with the mission and values of the Catholic.
Work schedule is within school office hours – 7:30am-3:00pm.
Bookkeeping Duties:
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Process accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and reimbursements.
- Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements.
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting for the school and parish office.
- Track tuition payments, donations, and fundraising income.
- Support preparation of documents for audits and Diocesan reporting.
Office Support:
- Greet and assist parents, students, and visitors in a welcoming, professional manner.
- Answer phones, manage correspondence, and maintain organized office files.
- Support school communications, mailings, and record-keeping.
- Provide occasional administrative support for school events
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or office administration experience (nonprofit or school setting preferred).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Discretion and integrity in handling confidential information.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
