Description
St. Philip the Apostle School is a forward-thinking, double-graded, TK-8, Catholic parish elementary school in Pasadena, CA. We are seeking a dynamic educator for our music program. This role, under the guidance of the principal, involves planning, delivering, and assessing music instruction for students in elementary through grade 7, including vocal, music theory, and instrumental instruction. The position may be full-time or part-time, depending on the school and the candidate’s needs.
Requirements
General Responsibilities:
- Manage and engage a classroom effectively.
- Foster a supportive Catholic environment conducive to student learning, including differentiation and classroom management.
- Direct the school choir for weekly school Masses.
- Organize the Christmas Worship Program and Spring Concert.
- Develop and deliver a curriculum that adheres to Common Core and Archdiocesan standards.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: BA required. A California teaching credential and/or Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Experience: Previous instructional experience is preferred.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
