Mary Star of the Sea Elementary school in San Pedro, CA, has an opening for an English/History Middle School Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. We are seeking educators who bring their Catholic faith into daily activities and serve as role models for our students. The ideal candidate enthusiastically supports the mission of the school; holds a bachelor’s degree; has excellent planning and organizational skills; is willing to be an example of good Catholic values; and is ready to create engaging lessons as we educate our students both academically and spiritually.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or beyond.
• CA teaching credential or in progress.
• Classroom management skills.
• Strong presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.
• Good spelling and grammar required.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
• Fully committed, supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
