Description
Ascension School is seeking a dynamic and professional Middle SchoolSocial Studies and Religion Teacher who has strong commitment to academic excellence and is exemplar of the Catholic faith. The ideal candidate must have professional planning, organizational, and management skills. The candidate must be a team player who is willing to collaborate with parents, students, and other staff to ensure students are engaged with innovative and challenging lessons.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with parents/guardians on a regular basis.
• Technologically proficient (experience with iPads, Zoom, Class Dojo, Google Classroom, Seesaw, and distance learning preferred)
• Previous teaching or substitute experience preferred, with demonstrated experience creating lesson plans
• Experience with Core Instructional Practices preferred
• Knowledge of California Content Standards and Archdiocese of L.A. religion standards
• Practicing Catholic in good standing in the Church
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
