Description

St. Bernard School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Science and Homeroom Teacher to join our school community. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about science education, committed to academic excellence, and dedicated to supporting the spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth of students. The ideal candidate will provide engaging, standards-based science instruction while contributing positively to a collaborative and mission-driven school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Science to students in Grades 5–8 using engaging, hands-on, standards-aligned instruction.
  • Serve as the Middle School Homeroom Teacher.
  • Plan, prepare, and implement effective lessons that support student learning and achievement.
  • Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of scientific inquiry and discovery.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students.
  • Assess student learning, maintain accurate records, and communicate student progress with families.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual Middle School Science Fair.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and staff to support student success and school initiatives.
  • Attend faculty meetings, school events, and required professional development opportunities.
  • Integrate technology and instructional best practices into daily instruction.
  • Uphold the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church while serving as a positive role model for students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field
  • Experience teaching middle school students is preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to integrate technology into instruction.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth.
  • A willingness to support and uphold the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
