Description
St. Margaret Mary Catholic School is currently accepting applications for a Middle School Math/Science teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. The candidate will be expected to provide Common Core math and NGSS science instruction to middle school students using a variety of methodologies and strategies.
The candidate should be willing to collaborate with colleagues to analyze data, create and integrate hands-on project-based learning experiences, and align instruction
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Engage all learners and successfully manage a classroom environment
• Connect daily student learning to real-world problems and situations in the math/science field
• Implement common core math curriculum utilizing research-based instructional strategies and methods
• Analyze student data to ensure that the learning objectives of the course meet the unique, diverse, and ever-changing needs of the students
• Work collaboratively with other middle school and resource faculty to create rigorous and differentiated instruction that challenges and is supportive of the students
• Perform duties of a teacher per the current policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, including but not limited to weekly lesson plans, curriculum mapping, online grade book, and parent communication
• Maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment for all learners
• Responsible for attending school-sponsored events, department/faculty meetings, professional development training and required contract days
Requirements
Qualifications:
• BA/BS in education, math, or science (related field) from an accredited college or university
• Valid teaching credential (or working toward)
• Minimum of two years teaching in middle or high school preferred
• A Catholic in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church
• Strong set of interpersonal, verbal communication, and written communication skills with a history of working collaboratively within a school setting
– Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics or related field
-Passion for and experience with math curriculum development and assessment, highly energetic and deeply caring
– Ability to plan and implement a rigorous academic curriculum in line with the Common Core Math standards
– Skill in differentiation and classroom management
– Knowledge of Google Classroom and other educational applications
– Demonstrated record of success working with middle school students
While not required, the most competitive candidates will possess or be working on the following:
CA teaching credential and/or Master’s in Education
Two years or more of experience teaching Mathematics.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
