St. Jerome School, a Catholic parish elementary school in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, is committed to educating Christian leaders for our world and to serving the needs of a culturally diverse Catholic Community. In addition, candidates should understand and utilize core instructional practices and implement a rigorous curriculum; have the ability to analyze data from formative and summative assessments to push learning forward; have strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers and administration; knowledge of blended learning an asset along with an ability to integrate technology in to student learning; and applicants must be dedicated to Catholic education and the pastoral values and evangelical mission of the Church. The Middle School ELA/Literature teacher at St. Jerome School is responsible for teaching reading and writing comprehension based on Common Core State Standards They will incorporate literature circles, book clubs, readers theatre, technology, and maintain a nondiscriminatory practice in all activities.
The English Language Arts teacher also works in collaboration with all middle school teachers and collaborates in a collegial manner daily. The 8th Grade assigned homeroom teacher is also the Chairperson for the 8th Grade Graduation and graduation activities.
