Seeking a full-time Middle School ELA Teacher. Qualified candidates should possess the following:

*a minimum of two years’ experience teaching in grades 6, 7 & 8
*experience in Readers/Writers Workshop and Responsive Classroom training preferred
*skilled in developing ELA lesson plans following common core, Los Angeles Archdiocesan & California state standards
*strong technology skills and the ability to integrate it into subject matter
*ability to create a classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth, which motivates students to develop skills, knowledge and a love for learning
*patient with clear and consistent expectations to promote independence and growth
*ability to evaluate student’s academic, social, and spiritual growth through formative and summative assessments and hold parent-teacher-student conferences when needed
*ability to create a positive classroom culture
*ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
*ability to work well with others and to be a positive team player

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree & single subject teaching credential in Language Arts or English required. Master’s degree preferred. At least 2 years’ experience teaching in middle/high school classroom. Preferred candidate should be proficient in using technology to direct instruction and enhance student learning.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
