St. Timothy School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Language Arts Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of reading and writing in students, foster critical thinking skills, and create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment. This role involves teaching students in grades 6–8, aligning instruction with state standards, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance student learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans in reading, writing, grammar and literature aligned with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles curriculum and California Common Core Standards.
- Foster a faith-filled classroom environment that integrates Catholic values and teachings.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
- Create a positive and respectful classroom culture and environment
- Integrate technology and multimedia into instruction where appropriate
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and needs.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, technology, and assessment tools to enhance student learning.
- Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a strong classroom community.
- Collaborate with middle school team of teachers and school administration to support student growth and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and school leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid California teaching credential (or in progress).
- Previous elementary teaching experience preferred.
- Practicing Catholic preferred, with a commitment to Catholic education and values.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
