Cathedral High School, a Lasallian, all-boys Catholic high school serving grades 9–12 in Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking a full-time Math/ Science teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Details:
Teach 2 sections of Algebra 2/ 1 Section of Algebra 2H/ 1 Section of AP Preculus/ 1 Section of AP Physics 1
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:30 PM
Location: Downtown Los Angeles

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Math or Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Previous high school Math/ Science teaching experience preferred
- Valid California teaching credential (or working toward one) preferred
- Ability to effectively integrate technology in a 1:1 iPad environment, including the use of learning management systems (e.g., Google Classroom), digital assessments, and instructional tools
- Ability to engage and support high school boys in a Catholic/Lasallian school environment
- Strong classroom management and instructional practices
- Experience with lesson planning, assessment design, and maintaining an accurate gradebook (e.g. PowerSchool)
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and willingness to participate in school community life
Responsibilities & Professional Expectations:
- Provide academic support through office hours, tutoring, and regular communication with students regarding their progress
- Serve as a moderator/advisor, fostering community, brotherhood, and student growth
- Collaborate with counselors, administration, and families to support students’ academic and personal development
- Model and promote Lasallian values: faith, respect, responsibility, and service
- Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support student success
- Contribute to school life through liturgies, retreats, assemblies, community-building activities, supervision duties, and co-curricular programs (e.g., athletics, clubs)

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
