Position Overview
- Notre Dame Academy is seeking a 6th–8th Math Lab Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
- The Math Lab is a workshop-based learning environment designed to reinforce foundational skills, deepen conceptual understanding, and build students’ confidence in mathematics. Rather than functioning as a second math class, the Math Lab provides structured opportunities for practice, differentiation, and enrichment aligned with core math instruction.
- We are looking for an educator who believes all students can become confident mathematical thinkers. The ideal candidate enjoys diagnosing skill gaps, designing targeted learning experiences, and helping students develop persistence and problem-solving strategies.
- This role requires close collaboration with core math teachers and a commitment to creating a classroom culture where effort, curiosity, and productive struggle are valued.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and facilitate structured math workshop sessions aligned with core instruction
- Differentiate learning experiences to support both skill development and enrichment
- Help students strengthen number sense, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving strategies
- Build a classroom culture that promotes growth mindset and productive struggle
- Use assessment and observation to identify learning gaps and adjust instruction
- Collaborate closely with core math teachers to ensure instructional alignment
- Utilize technology and digital tools to support differentiated learning
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to the broader middle school program and school community
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience preferred
- Teaching credential (or working toward one)
- Strong understanding of middle school mathematics and learning progressions
- Experience differentiating instruction for a range of learners
- Strong classroom management and instructional clarity
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfort integrating technology into instruction
- Willingness to reflect, adapt, and grow professionally
- Preferred qualifications include experience with workshop-based instruction, math intervention, or enrichment programs.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
