It is a welcoming space where parishioners, school families, and guests gather for quality coffee, light food, faith-centered gifts, and meaningful conversation. More than a café, Holy Grounds exists to foster hospitality, build community, and support the parish mission of forming loving disciples who transform the world.The manager of Holy Grounds oversees the daily operations of the cafe and gift store, ensuring that all guests experience a welcoming, safe, and inspiring space. The manager leads a team of staff and volunteers with a spirit of discipleship, hospitality, and excellence, offering high-quality service, delicious products, and faith-centered merchandise.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a growing relationship with Christ through prayer, scripture, faith sharing and other spiritual practices.
- Lead and manage all operations of Holy Grounds – food, beverage and bookstore.
- Recruit, train, and supervise Holy Grounds staff and volunteers, from a mindset of making loving disciples.
- Purchase and track the inventory of all products – perishable, non-perishable and retail.
- Oversee the display, storage, restocking, and organizing of all products.
- Preserve a clean, uncluttered and visually
- Create a welcoming and friendly environment, leading by example.
- Keeps the bookstore offerings relevant through regular communication with publishers, retail buyers and gift designers to stay current religious gift offerings.
- Oversees inventory data and reporting systems, following all financial, accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Plans and executes marketing and special sales events.
- Assists pastor and staff in purchasing some books for their ministries and for sale to parishioners.
- Maintains all work areas and equipment in a neat, clean and efficient manner, observing all health department regulations.
- Tactfully ensures that guests/visitors abide by HG policies and promptly addresses any inappropriate behavior when necessary.
Workin Environment and Physical Demands
Working Environment:
- The responsibilities of the Holy Grounds manager will be performed primarily at the parish in Holy Grounds, however some local travel is required to visit vendors and pick up supplies.
Physical Demands:
- The stamina to be mobile and active at all day events while standing, sitting and transitioning locations. The ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
Requirements
- Registered, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Minimum 3–5 years experience managing a coffee shop, café, or similar food and beverage operation
- Demonstrated experience in staff management and scheduling
- Experience managing POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong financial literacy and operational reporting experience
- Experience in retail purchasing and merchandising
- Food Handler Certification required (or willingness to obtain)
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
