Description
Our Lady of Lourdes School Tujunga is seeking a dependable, skilled Maintenance Worker to support the day-to-day upkeep of our school campus. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and fully functioning environment for our students, faculty, and visitors. The ideal candidate is proactive, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable handling a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across campus, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
- Address work in a timely manner, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Assist with preventative maintenance of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, and equipment.
- Support campus cleanliness and safety by identifying and resolving maintenance concerns.
- Set up and break down for school events, meetings, and activities.
- Assist with minor painting, furniture assembly, and campus improvements.
- Maintain campus grounds, including gardening, planting, watering, and general landscape care.
- Trim bushes, hedges, and trees to keep the campus neat and safe.
- Blow leaves, sweep walkways, and keep outdoor areas clean and presentable.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Work collaboratively with the Principal and school staff to prioritize needs.
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues as needed.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of maintenance or handyman experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
