Maintenance Custodian – Afternoon/Evening Shift
The Maintenance Custodian supports the daily operation, cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of the school campus. This position works collaboratively with the Assistant Principal of Facilities and school administration to ensure that all facilities—including academic and athletic areas—are properly maintained and prepared for school activities.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of all campus buildings, classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Provide routine cleaning and maintenance of the athletic facilities and surrounding areas, including locker rooms, bathrooms, gym, fields, weight room, and courtyard.
- Assist with campus setup and breakdown for school events, meetings, athletic events, and other activities as needed.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including lawns, hedges, walkways, and landscaped areas across campus.
- Perform minor repairs and general maintenance of school buildings, classrooms, equipment, and grounds.
- Ensure campus areas are safe, clean, and secure during the evening shift.
- Assist with trash removal, recycling, and campus sanitation.
- Follow proper safety procedures when using cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal and Assistant Principal of Facilities.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly during afternoon and evening hours.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe campus environment.
Archdiocese of Los Angeles Employment Requirements:
All employees must meet the employment requirements of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including:
- Completion of a Live Scan fingerprint background check.
- Completion of VIRTUS/Protecting God’s Children safe environment training.
- Compliance with all Archdiocesan safe environment policies and procedures.
- Verification of legal authorization to work in the United States.
- TB clearance and any additional employment documentation required by the Archdiocese.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
