Saint Monica Preparatory is a coeducational, Catholic TK-12th grade school in the heart of Santa Monica, CA. The parish school is a ministry of the vibrant St. Monica Catholic Community located seven blocks from the ocean. SMPREP animates its three central pillars – inquisitive in scholarship, courageous in action, and anchored in solidarity – in the context of a loving, faithful community with an unwavering dedication to forming the whole student.
Saint Monica Preparatory is seeking a full-time lower school instructional aide and intervention support for the 2026-2027 school year. SMPREP is dedicated to the academic, spiritual, and emotional development and growth of each student.
Position Summary
The successful applicant will:
- Support the lead teacher in implementing daily instruction, small-group learning, and classroom routines
- Provide small-group and pull-out academic intervention in reading and math
- Foster a holistic, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
- Assist in the integration of faith, values, and character development into daily classroom life
- Promote collaboration and communication among faculty, students, and families
- Supervise students during recess and lunch, ensuring safety and positive student interactions
- Demonstrate thoughtful decision-making and the ability to support teaching and learning in a Catholic school environment
Requirements
Qualifications
The minimum requirements are:
- Experience working with primary age children
- HS diploma
In addition to the above, the preferred requirements are:
- Experience with small-group instruction or academic intervention
- AA degree in Child Development or a related field
- BA degree in a discipline of education

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
