Saint Monica Preparatory is a coeducational, Catholic TK-12th grade school in the heart of Santa Monica, CA. The parish school is a ministry of the vibrant St. Monica Catholic Community located seven blocks from the ocean. Saint Monica Preparatory is seeking a lower school instructional aide for the 2026-2027 school year. SMPREP is dedicated to the academic, spiritual, and emotional development and growth of each student.
Position Summary
The successful applicant will:
- Support the lead teacher in implementing daily instruction, small-group learning, and classroom routines
- Foster a holistic, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
- Assist in the integration of faith, values, and character development into the daily life of the classroom
- Promote effective collaboration and communication among faculty, students, and families
- Supervise students during recess and lunch, ensuring safety, engagement, and positive student interactions
- Demonstrate the ability to make thoughtful, informed decisions; and the ability to support teaching and learning in an environment that demands the integration of theory and practice in a Catholic school environment
Requirements
The minimum requirements are:
- Experience working with primary age children
- HS diploma
In addition to the above, the preferred requirements are:
- AA degree in Child Development or a related field
- BA degree in a discipline of education
Salary Range
$20-$25/HR

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
