Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all rules, policies and procedures of Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic School, along with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles regulations, pertaining to school issues.
- Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and is compatible with the school, Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and state guidelines.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Turn in lesson plans as directed by the principal.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. This includes grading papers and giving the students immediate feedback.
- Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Create and deliver lesson plans
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education with valid teaching certificate or working towards a credential
- Other qualifications as the Archdiocese of Los Angeles may find appropriate: Virtus trained, Los Angeles Archdiocese fingerprinting, Mandated Reporter Training, CPR certified
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
