Description

Westside Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Kindergarten teacher to design, facilitate, and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons for young learners. The successful candidate will create engaging instruction, manage classroom routines and centers, assess student progress, and communicate effectively with colleagues, administration, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily Kindergarten lessons in math, language arts, social studies, science, and social-emotional learning.
  • Create and manage learning centers (math, language arts, fine motor, etc.) and small-group instruction.
  • Prepare lesson plans, assign tasks, and evaluate student work and progress.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs and maintain high expectations with supportive guidance.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events; support co-curricular activities as needed.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree and valid teaching credential.
  • Proficiency with educational technology including word processing and presentation tools.
  • Strong classroom management skills, clear communication, and a growth mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching Kindergarten or Grade 1.
  • Familiarity with Catholic school values and mission.

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
