Position Overview
- Notre Dame Academy is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Kindergarten at NDA is a joyful and purposeful environment where young learners build foundational academic skills while developing curiosity, independence, and confidence. Through hands-on learning, structured routines, and meaningful play, students grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
- We are looking for an educator who understands early childhood development and can create a classroom environment that balances structure, exploration, and relationship-building.
- The ideal candidate enjoys designing engaging learning experiences, fostering strong classroom community, and helping young students develop a love of learning.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate kindergarten curriculum aligned with California standards
- Create a classroom environment that supports early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth
- Utilize centers, projects, and hands-on learning to engage young learners
- Foster a positive classroom community that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and independence
- Track and analyze student progress using a variety of assessment tools
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families
- Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and instructional aides
- Contribute to the broader elementary program and school community
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience preferred
- Teaching credential in early childhood or elementary education
- Strong understanding of early childhood development
- Experience with differentiated instruction and early literacy development
- Strong classroom management and relational teaching skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfort integrating technology into instruction
- Willingness to reflect, adapt, and grow professionally
- Preferred qualifications include experience with centers-based learning, project-based learning, or early childhood literacy instruction.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
