Description
mmaculate Conception School, located near Downtown LA, is currently seeking an 8th Grade Homeroom/6-8 Gr. Religion & Humanities teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
The teacher would be responsible for planning, instructing and assessing junior high students in the above-mentioned academic areas and enrich the formation of the whole child by implementing other co-curricular subjects, activities and themes throughout the year. We are seeking a teacher who is familiar with the Core Instructional Practice, uses differentiation in their instruction, and is able to manage a classroom effectively into a conducive learning environment, while affirming all students with a positive growth mindset.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, recognizes the significance of closing achievement gaps in communities of people of color and is dedicated to upholding the cultures and traditions of the Catholic faith. They are also equally as passionate about data, and wholeheartedly use it to inform their instruction and hold all students to high standards. They are a team player, open collaborator and great communicator.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Theology or other humanities-related field (Master’s degree and/or catechist certification preferred)
- California teaching credential (single or multi-subject) or in the process of obtaining one
- Minimum 2 years classroom experience
- Experience working with technology, learning applications and Google Suite
- Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
