Description
St. Philip the Apostle School is a forward-thinking, double-graded, TK-8 Catholic parish elementary school in Pasadena, CA. We are seeking a highly qualified Math teacher who can enthusiastically engage our students and prepare them for challenging high school courses. The Math teacher should be qualified to teach Algebra. This is a full-time position teaching two algebra classes to 8th grade each day, as well as two 7th-grade blocks daily. In addition, the teacher supports the math curriculum by running small groups and supporting differentiation.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree (BA, BS) from an accredited university or college.
- A California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a California Single Subject Teaching Credential, or MA, MS in education with a mathematics emphasis.
- Teaching experience in Junior High or High School
- Ability to join a professional community of educators committed to providing a challenging standards-based curriculum in a Catholic environment of service.
- Ability to use technology effectively.
- Ability to effectively manage a middle school classroom
Candidates will have the necessary experience and degree(s) to fulfill all requirements of the position.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
