Description
Immaculate Conception School, located near the Downtown LA skyline, has served surrounding communities for over one hundred years. We are currently seeking a 6-8th grade Math & Science/6th Grade homeroom teacher for the 2023-24 school year.
The teacher would be responsible for planning, instructing and assessing junior high students in the academic subject areas of Math/Algebra and Science using the blended learning model. Furthermore, the teacher enriches the formation of the whole child by implementing other co-curricular subjects, activities and themes throughout their daily instruction.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, and recognizes the significance of closing achievement gaps in communities of people of color and is dedicated to upholding the vibrant cultures and traditions of the Catholic faith. They are also equally as passionate about data, and wholeheartedly use it to inform their instruction and hold all students to the highest standards. Finally, our ideal candidate is skilled at maintaining a structured classroom management system that firmly holds up a conducive learning environment while affirming all students with a positive growth mindset. They believe that teaching is just as much about professional development as it is about collaborating with fellow faculty members to reach goals.
Interested and qualified candidates are highly encouraged to send their resume and cover letter to principal Walter Ortiz at wortiz@ics-la.org.
