Description

Crespi is currently seeking a full-time International Student Program Coordinator.
Crespi’s mission is to build men of character and faith unified in brotherhood and formed through a contemporary, Catholic, college preparatory education in the Carmelite tradition of prayer, community, and service.

Position Summary:

The International Student Program Coordinator serves as the primary contact for international students and families, supporting them from admission through graduation, transfer, or departure. This role oversees onboarding, visa-related documentation, regulatory compliance, student support, parent communication, and academic, cultural, and community integration. As part of the Admissions team, this position will work closely with Counseling, Registrar, Business Office, and Administration.

Primary Job Duties:

International Admissions & Enrollment Support

  • Serve as the school’s primary contact for prospective international students and families, as well as the Department of Catholic Schools Archdiocese of Los Angeles
  • Coordinate with Admissions regarding inquiry follow-up, application status, transcript review, English-language readiness, grade-level placement, etc.
  • Review international student files for completeness before enrollment
  • Coordinate collection, review, and secure storage of required documents (Passport, transcripts, financial documentation, guardian information, etc.)
  • Coordinate acceptance communication with Admissions and Business Office to ensure that tuition, fees, deposits, and required financial documents align with I-20 issuance
  • Communicate to potential students the sequence of admission to the school, issuance of Form I-20, payment of the required fees, Visa interviews, entry to the United States, etc.
  • As the Coordinator, register, maintain, and update accurate SEVIS records for each F-1 /M-1 student
  • Coordinate with the SEVIS Coordinator and SEVIS DSO regarding Form I-17 updates, recertification, site visits, and school-level compliance documentation
  • Use SEVP and Study in the States guidance as the primary operational reference for F-1 compliance

International Student Onboarding & Orientation

  • Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding process for new international students and families
  • Coordinate orientation programs covering academic expectations, attendance requirements, school policies, technology access, student life, and campus resources
  • Introduce students to the school’s culture, mission, traditions, and community expectation; partner with Counseling, Admissions, Academics, Dean of Students, Athletics, Campus Ministry, and Technology
  • Promote international student participation in athletics, clubs, leadership opportunities, service programs, retreats, and campus life, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement within the school community
  • Support cultural adjustment and help students navigate American educational and social norms

Academic Monitoring & Student Support

  • Monitor student academic progress, attendance, and overall adjustment throughout the school year
  • Identify and support students experiencing academic, language, social, cultural, or behavioral challenges
  • Coordinate interventions with Counseling for tutoring, academic support plans, teacher conferences, and parent meetings
  • Help students understand graduation requirements, course sequencing, college planning, and academic integrity expectations

Family, Guardian & Agency Communication

  • Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, host families, and educational agents
  • Serve as the primary liaison for academic concerns, attendance issues, travel notifications, student wellness, discipline matters, and re-enrollment discussions
  • Maintain accurate records of key communications and ensure appropriate authorization for student-related decisions
  • Coordinate translation or language-access support when needed

Health, Safety & Student Welfare

  • Maintain emergency contact, local guardian, and student residency information
  • Coordinate with the Health Office regarding immunization compliance and health documentation
  • Support students experiencing homesickness, anxiety, social isolation, family challenges, or other wellness concerns

Faculty & Staff Collaboration

  • Serve as a resource for faculty and staff regarding international student support
  • Assist with training related to cultural adjustment, multilingual learners, family communication, and referral procedures
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure a consistent and supportive experience for international students

Supplemental duties may include:

  • Serve as a welcoming point of contact for prospective families by phone, email, and in-person visits
  • Support the planning and execution of admissions events
  • Assist with year-round campus tours
  • Help maintain the annual admissions calendar
  • Schedule student interviews with faculty and staff
  • Assign or coordinate student ambassadors and tour guides
  • Support FinalSite data entry, applicant tracking, and recruitment reporting
  • Generate basic admissions reports as assigned
  • Assist with application-completion follow-up
  • Support accepted-student onboarding and enrollment communication
  • Help prepare admissions materials, signage, check-in lists, name tags, folders, and family-facing documents
  • Collaborate with academic departments, athletics, advancement, and student services to support recruitment efforts

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered
  • Experience in education, admissions, counseling, student services, registrar operations, or international student support
  • Strong organizational, project-management, and records-management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Ability to travel internationally if needed
  • Ability to work effectively with students and families from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrated discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, databases, spreadsheets, and information systems

Preferred

  • Experience supporting F-1 international students
  • Knowledge of SEVIS, Form I-20 processes, and student visa regulations
  • Experience working in independent, faith-based, or college-preparatory schools
  • Familiarity with multilingual learner support and cross cultural communication
  • Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese language proficiency, able to support communication with students and families

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
