Description
Bishop Mora Salesian High School is an all-boys, college preparatory school in Boyle Heights. We aim to “love, teach, and inspire” the young men entrusted to our care through the Salesian emphasis on “home, school, church, and playground.” Our Salesian Family is growing, so we will need additional qualified and dedicated teachers for the 2025-26 school year. We welcome applicants for social science/history, religion, and math/science positions.
Classroom teachers at Salesian take the lead in ensuring that our students achieve their key academic integral outcomes. Salesian students are young men who:
- *demonstrate critical thinking through multiple learning methodologies and technologies.
- *complete a college preparatory curriculum that satisfies the University of California admissions requirements.
- *use academic and life experiences to develop individual talents and identity.
Our teachers support student learning outside of the classroom by assisting at school events like retreats, parent/teacher conferences, athletic events, and activities days. All of our work is rooted in the Salesian commitment that, “It is not enough to love the young; they must know that they are loved.”
Full-time teachers teach five of seven periods and collaborate with department colleagues to deliver an engaging and rigorous curriculum. Teachers are responsible to develop formative and summative assessments to provide timely feedback to students and parents.
We believe in investing in our teachers with stipends to supplement the base salary and funds to support conferences, college course work, and other professional development opportunities.
