Description
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High School is looking for a full time Math teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The position will include 5 sections of teaching Math, with one prep time included. The potential math teaching subjects include: Algebra 2, Honors Algebra, AP Precalculus, and AP Precalculus.
Job Duties:
- Develops and implements a standards-aligned mathematics curriculum according to Common Core Standards.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is conducive to individualized and/or small-group instruction and student learning
- Develops standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area and submits lesson plans weekly.
- Conducts ongoing standards-aligned formative assessments of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, and conducts individual and small group instruction as needed
- Uses standardized test scores (STAR ) for the purpose of shifting practice, if need, in order to better serve the learning needs of our student
- Incorporates technology in daily instructional practices and has a strong knowledge or familiarity with using Google Suite, Canvas and Aeries.
- Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Assistant Principals of Academics
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Math or a related field preferred.
- Teaching credential general secondary or single subject Mathematics, or Masters in Mathematics (preferred, but not required)
- Good interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and complete them by due dates.
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
- Must demonstrate sensitivity towards students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with teenagers and their parents.
- Ability to maintain files accurately, on paper and in software programs (Aeries, Canvas, Google Suite)

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
