Description
Academic & College Advising
- Advise students on annual course selection and conduct regular transcript audits to ensure “A-G” and graduation compliance.
- Monitor academic progress and coordinate interventions for students requiring additional support.
- Manage the college application journey, including writing letters of recommendation and assisting with financial aid/scholarship searches.
- Organize and host college fairs, parent information nights, and university representative visits.
STEP Coordinator
- This role involves working closely with students, teachers, and families to create inclusive and effective learning environments
- Reviewing psycho-educational evaluations to assist in developing STEP Plans for students with documented eligibility and collaborate with teachers and parents/guardians to distribute and implement plans
- Provide support for students with learning differences with individual STEP Plans
- Conduct training workshops and professional development opportunities for educators on student learning differences to support instructional practices
- Utilize technology and other resources to enhance learning experiences
- Collect and analyze student performance data including class grades, standardized testing and report findings
- Attend all Student Support meetings and follow up on discussions and/or specific implementation strategies
- Stay up to date on brain-based research and best practices in teaching neurotypical and neurodiverse learners, and collaborate with colleagues to implement effective instruction, strategies and interventions
Social-Emotional Support (Occasional/Short-Term)
- Provide short-term, occasional individual support for students facing immediate personal or social challenges.
- Act as a first responder in crisis situations, providing immediate support and appropriate referrals to outside mental health professionals for long-term care.
Requirements
Requirements/Education and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors required; master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field preferred. Valid State Certification/Licensure in School Counseling (PPS) preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with grace and discretion.
- Previous experience working with high school students preferred.
- A practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred, with a deep understanding of the mission of Catholic education.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, proficiency with school management software (e.g., Naviance, Canvas, Aeries), and excellent public speaking skills.
- Willingness to work on occasional evenings or weekends for parent meetings and school events.

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
