Description

St. Brendan School, a TK–8 Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, seeks a motivated and faith-filled individual to join our collaborative faculty team as a full-time Fourth Grade Teacher.

St. Brendan School is a Catholic parish elementary school located between the Koreatown, Windsor Square, and Hancock Park neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Our student population reflects the rich diversity of these communities, as well as the broader Mid-Wilshire, Hollywood, and South Los Angeles areas. We are committed to providing a faith-centered, academically challenging education that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, and social growth of every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the school’s philosophy, Catholic teachings, and academic standards.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports student growth in faith and learning.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Integrate faith-based teachings and Catholic values into daily lessons and activities.
  • Assess student progress through observation, documentation, and formative assessments.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Participate in school Masses, religious celebrations, and Catholic community events.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s mission and vision.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (required)
  • Valid teaching credential (preferred)
  • Experience in elementary instruction preferred
  • Be knowledgeable of various online resources/programs to utilize for in-person teaching, as well as for distance learning;
  • Be able to prepare and implement lesson plans, instruct students using an effective classroom management style, monitor student progress, evaluate student performance, and maintain accurate student records;
  • Perform other duties and administrative tasks per school protocol and/or administration’s request.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
