DESCRIPTION:
Under direct supervision, performs routine tasks in the maintenance and repair of Cathedral and Conference Center building, and related facilities and equipment. Supports Cathedral and Cathedral Conference Center events and functions, both on weekdays and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleaning and Maintenance: performs custodial duties such as cleaning, maintaining and repairing fixtures, equipment and appliances
- Set-up/Break-down: Sets up and breaks down furniture and equipment for events
- Maintenance Support: Provides maintenance support for Facilities Supervisor
- Preventive Maintenance: Performs routine preventive maintenance functions for facilities and systems
- Installation: Assists with the installation of facility and systems materials, fixtures and mechanical equipment
- Repairs: Makes simple interior and exterior repairs, including repairs to bathroom vanity equipment, office furniture, fences and gates
- Painting: Interior and exterior walls, paint markings on asphalt, floor and equipment
- Lubrication: Lubricates fans, motors, pumps and cooling
- Groundskeeping: Assists with maintenance of grounds, gardens, trees and irrigation systems
- Record Keeping: Prepares and submits records of work performed
- Reporting: Observes, notes and communicates interior and exterior facility issues for repair
- Mausoleum: Assists with interments and other Mausoleum related tasks
- Cathedral: Assists with liturgical events as needed
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum two years facilities maintenance experience
- Basic carpentry, plumbing and repair skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to frequently lift up to the 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently perform tasks requiring climbing, crouching, kneeling, stooping and bending
- Ability to stand and walk for sustained periods of time

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
