St. Mark School is seeking a full time candidate to fill its Vice Principal position beginning in July of 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The role of the Vice-Principal, as delegate of the principal, supports implementing the operations of the school.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- A willingness to minister to the faculty, staff, parents, and students in working together to accomplish the mission of St Mark School in its endeavor to educate children in the Catholic faith
- A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church
- Have an expertise in curriculum and methodologies, including Student Engagement activities and Differentiated Instruction
- Ability to work collaboratively and build teams
- Ability to deal confidentially and with discretion in matters that are sensitive
- Ability to communicate effectively in the spoken and written word and use technology to communicate, make presentations, do research, and create presentation materials
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to the daily demands of the job
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding students, personnel and school matters.
- Work effectively, respectfully and positively with all members of the community.
- Motivated, driven, self-starter.
Essential Functions of an Instructional Leader:
- Under the guidance of the principal, complete teacher observations and post-conferences.
- Assist in the planning of professional development at faculty meetings
- Work with the principal to plan and carry out faculty professional development and retreat days
- Manage lesson plans coordination and schools schedules for faculty
- In the absence of the principal on campus, the vice-principal will oversee and handle any situation that arises.
Mentor:
- Serve as a mentor to the new teachers in lesson development, lesson modeling, assisting with grading practices and procedures, classroom environment, student/faculty relationships and behavior, internal communications, compliance with school policies, parent-teacher communications
Intervention & Student Support:
- Observe the students in the classroom and make suggestions for the teachers in assisting students in meeting academic benchmarks.
- Oversee our STEP program
Admissions and Enrollment management:
- Navigate admissions process with prospective families:
- Coordinate parent/student tours.
- Track enrollment contracts for prospective and returning families.
- Conduct pre-school outreach visits each Fall.
- Facilitate admission events including prospective parent information sessions, new parent reception.
- Market admission initiatives for SMS
- Outgoing admissions
- Coordinate high school fair, high school information night.
- Complete transcript request forms.
Discipline:
- Support discipline issues that arise
- Support discipline issues that the principal refers to you
- Communicate with parents/guardians
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support teachers in their instruction, encouraging differentiated Instruction.
- Serve on the hiring committee for new teachers
- Teaching a class in the ideal candidate’s field of expertise is included in this role.
- School events, including some evening events/meetings are expected.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ Degree, (Masters’ Degree in Curriculum, Instructional Leadership, or Educational Administration preferred) from an accredited university.
- A valid California Teaching Credential preferred.
- Successful Catholic School classroom and instructional leadership
- Be an active Catholic in good standing with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Additional requirements: Virtus Certified; Live Scan through ADLA; TB Neg. Test Result; CPR Certification; Catechetical Certification (preferable).

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
