Under the collaborative direction of the school principal, our teachers provide a Catholic based educational program for students in grades pre-K to 8, or a combination thereof. Our teachers plan and implement lessons of core subjects along with providing faith-based education and programs approved by the Catholic Church. Must know and be able to teach to the Common Core State Standards in ELA and Math. and other content subjects.
Candidate needs to be able to prepare daily lesson plans with measurable objectives, procedures, and assessment. OLR follows the Core Instructional Practices and guidelines from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
The candidate should also be able to design a classroom conducive to the needs of various learning styles and familiar with RTI process.
The candidate uses STAR Data or other Data to improve instruction.
The successful candidate must also be knowledgeable in the integration of technology throughout the curriculum.
Create a supportive and caring classroom environment in which students can learn and interact positively with one another; through student-centered instruction, collaboration and authentic assessment.
Maintain an open and cooperative relationship with students, colleagues, and parents.
Contribute to the life of the School outside the classroom.
Participate in faculty and departmental meetings and perform various faculty supervisory duties or additional duties as needed.
The qualified candidate is Catholic, holds a multi-subject credential (or is currently enrolled in a program), thrives in a collaborative faculty culture, and is comfortable deliberately integrating technology into the structure of classroom instruction. Flexibility and creativity in structuring classroom experiences to meet the needs of the students, while using CIP practices and solid classroom management practices, are an asset. Candidates must be reliable and open to establishing an active partnership with parents and other faculty to maintain the family atmosphere of our school. Strong faith, a positive attitude, and commitment to helping our school grow is critical.
The qualified candidate should have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree prerequisite
- CA Multi-Subjects Teaching Credential or enrollment in a credential program
- Classroom experience
- Comfort and familiarity with classroom technology and its integration
- Practicing Catholic preferred
