Requirements

The elementary school teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive, engaging, and faith-centered learning environment that fosters the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each student. The teacher will plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned with Archdiocesan guidelines and Common Core State Standards while integrating Catholic teachings and values throughout all areas of the curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, faith-centered classroom environment that promotes the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth of all students.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Archdiocesan curriculum guidelines and Common Core State Standards.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings, Gospel values, and faith formation into daily instruction and classroom culture.
  • Assess student progress regularly and utilize data to inform instruction and support individual learning needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective classroom management practices that encourage respect, responsibility, and student success.
  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned duties to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and spiritual development.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to support schoolwide initiatives, professional learning communities, special events, and student activities.
  • Participate actively in school liturgies, prayer services, retreats, and other faith-based programs.

The ideal candidate will inspire students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate individuals rooted in faith. The teacher will collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and school administration to support student achievement and promote the mission of the school.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • California Teaching Credential (or progress in this area) preferred
  • Catechetical certification (or willingness to obtain through the Archdiocese)
  • Experience working with elementary students, especially primary grades
  • Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and instructional skills

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
