Description
St. Ignatius of Loyola School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher for our multi-age 1st-4th grade classroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and working collaboratively with administration, fellow teachers, parents, and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program, ensuring written evidence of preparation as needed.
- They will teach ELA and Social Studies to two multi-age classrooms (1st-4th grade), using a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special needs.
- Establishing and maintaining open communication with parents, students, and fellow staff members is essential.
- The candidate will participate actively in school events, including fundraisers, community events, and faith-based activities, and collaborate with administration and a team of teachers to plan and implement school-wide initiatives.
- Maintaining a positive and disciplined classroom environment conducive to student learning, assessing and documenting student progress, providing timely feedback, and communicating effectively with parents regarding their child’s academic and social progress are also key responsibilities.
- The candidate should exhibit enthusiasm and a faith-filled spirit that inspires and motivates students, while modeling and supporting the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).
– Teaching certification or licensure (preferred no required).
– Classroom teaching experience.
– Strong classroom management skills.
– Practicing Catholic (preferred).
– Commitment to the mission and values of St. Ignatius of Loyola School.
