Description

This is a part-time position (approximately 20-25 hours per week), whose primary responsibility is to oversee all fundraising and development activities for donors, prospective families, and key stakeholders. Duties include planning fundraising events, building relationships with donors to encourage ongoing support, and seeking out opportunities for foundation and corporate support.

Other responsibilities:

  • Oversee the publication and distribution of bi-annual newsletters
  • Support the Director of Media and Marketing to design and implement social media campaigns
  • Support the Development Board Chair in board recruitment and tasks
  • Research and solicit grants from foundations and businesses
  • Solicit gifts from individual donors & alumni
  • Support administration in annual financial aid application process to secure funding
  • Use DonorPerfect software to organize and analyze donor-related information
  • Write acknowledgement letters promptly in response to all gifts

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial philanthropic professional with 3 + years of experience that demonstrates a solid knowledge of marketing and development techniques and best practices.
  • Candidates must understand, support, and have passion for the mission and focus of Sacred Heart School; specifically, a belief in the value of Catholic education.
  • He/she must be collaborative, a team player who melds well with all types and levels of people in a professional and approachable manner; specifically: teachers, administrators, board members, Archdiocese and parish partners, other community leaders, business owners, parents, and students.
  • Candidates must be strong communicators (in both writing and speaking); preferably with experience as a grant seeker or relevant experience with grant writing
  • He/she should be skilled at partnership building, project development, implementation, and capacity-building. And be highly skilled and comfortable interfacing with other foundations in the greater L.A. area and exploring new opportunities for partnerships.
  • Ideal candidates will be professional and courteous, flexible, and creative, willing to do what needs to be done without being asked, and available to work flexible hours as needed to reach goals.
  • Experience with donor database software, such as Donor Perfect or something comparable

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree in marketing, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • He/she must be able to work independently managing remote and onsite hours (at least 2 days weekly) as needed to meet goals
  • Bi-lingual capability is preferred (English/Spanish).
  • Minimum 3-year experience
  • Maintain Donor Perfect database up-to-date
  • Identifying and stewarding a new Board and prospective donors

Compensation:
This is a 1099, contracted position
Approx. 20-25 hours per week, at $30+ per hour (rate commensurate with experience and success at meeting development goals)

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
