Hiring: Development Director
Are you an experienced fundraising professional with a passion for guiding organizations through successful capital campaigns? We are seeking a Capital Campaign Director to provide strategic leadership and hands-on support to ensure our fundraising success. You will lead the campaign from its earliest planning stages through fruition, including campaign readiness, infrastructure, volunteer base, training, solicitation, gift tracking, etc. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in growing a small school.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Conduct Feasibility Study – Assess the viability of the campaign and identify potential challenges.
- Develop Campaign Strategies – Create comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve financial goals.
- Prospect Research & Donor Engagement – Identify potential donors and analyze their giving capacity.
- Lead Fundraising & Solicitation Efforts – Implement best practices to secure major gifts and donations.
- Plan & Execute Campaign Events – Organize impactful fundraising events to boost campaign visibility.
- Train Leadership & Staff – Provide coaching on fundraising strategies and best practices.
- Offer Strategic Guidance – Serve as a trusted advisor to ensure campaign success.
Requirements
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven relationships with LA-based funders (gifts secured within the past 24 months of $100k plus)
- Evidence of trust & foundation fundraising – grant writing, developed relationships with grant donors such as banks, family foundations, government agencies.
- Event planning experience (to seek smaller local donors for the community phase)
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles and donor relations.
- Experience in conducting feasibility studies and developing strategic plans.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to provide both full-service campaign management and advisory consulting.
- Highly organized, results-driven, and adaptable to different nonprofit environments.
- Familiar with Raiser’s Edge Software

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
