Description
The Before and After School Daycare Counsellors are an essential part of Our Lady of the Assumption School community. Our Daycare serves up to 100 students daily. The assistants manage grade level groups of students between 2:00-6:00pm Monday – Thursday, and 12:15pm-6:00pm on Friday throughout the school year. The Counselors prepare crafts and other fun activities, assist with the varying needs of students, supervise recess, and support learning by creating an atmosphere where students can complete homework. The position is hired and evaluated by the Principal and Director of Daycare.
Requirements
Team player who practices open communication regarding concerns for students with parents and staff
- Organized and thoughtful in preparing materials and activities
- Ability to multi-task, be flexible, and remain calm in a fast paced environment
- Ensure that all staff and children are respectful of school property and all school rules are followed
- High school diploma; at least two years of college or BA preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
