Blessed Sacrament Church is seeking a part-time Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation & OCIA to help lead and grow our parish’s faith formation programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Catholic who is passionate about sharing the faith with children and families and helping build a welcoming parish community.
Position Details
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-time (20–25 hours per week)
- Sundays: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Children’s Faith Formation/OCIA)
- Thursdays: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Spanish OCIA)
- Monthly staff meetings and occasional weekend events
Position Overview
Working under the supervision of the Pastor the Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing children’s faith formation programs including sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion, Liturgy of the Word for Children, and the OCIA program.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate faith formation programs for Pre-K through 7th grade
- Recruit, train, and support catechists and volunteers
- Plan retreats, formation activities, and sacramental celebrations
- Communicate regularly with parents and program participants
- Ensure volunteers meet Safeguard the Children/VIRTUS requirements
- Collaborate with other parish ministry leaders
- Promote parish programs through bulletin, website, and social media
Requirements
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic committed to the teachings of the Church
- Experience in parish faith formation or catechetical ministry
- Certification in religious education or catechetical ministry preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and parish staff
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
