Description
Student Learning Support
- Direct Instruction: Lead small-group and 1:1 sessions to provide remediation, enrichment, differentiation, and writing assistance as directed by the teacher.
- Classroom Management: Facilitate teacher-assigned learning activities, support daily instruction, and step in as a substitute teacher when needed.
Administrative & Classroom Prep
- Classroom Setup & Upkeep: Manage room preparation, cleanup, seasonal transitions (fall/summer), and student work displays.
- Instructional Support: Assist with grading, preparing student files, and co-planning field trips.
Student Supervision & Safety
- Active Monitoring: Supervise recess, lunch, carpool, and off-campus trips—proactively managing and resolving issues.
- Safe Transitions: Escort students safely between classes and ensure continuous supervision throughout the school day.
Collaboration & Professional Duties
- Communication: Partner with teachers to track and discuss student progress.
- Professional Engagement: Maintain punctual attendance and participate in faculty meetings, retreats, and training when invited by the Principal.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 Early Childhood Education Credits (Preferred)
- High School Diploma
- VIRTUS trained
- Preferably bilingual (Spanish/English) but not required
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
- Positive, patient, and nurturing attitude
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
