Description
The Assistant Principal of Student Affairs and Operations oversees Student Activities, Attendance, Discipline, Security, Facilities, and Performing Arts, and assists the Principal in school operations. The Assistant Principal is a member of the Administrative Council, the Discipline Review Board and assists the Principal with daily school operations and student engagement.
Professional Expectations:
- Supervises and conducts ongoing performance evaluations of the Dean(s) of Students, Student Activities Director, Attendance Officer, Security, and Theater Director
- Assists in student formation and staff professional development
- Coordinate supervision assignments for faculty
- Oversees the lunch and food program
- Facilitates Operations meetings
- Coordinates of the Graduation Committee
- Coordinates the supervision of students before school, during break and lunch, and after school.
- Coordinate teacher daily supervision (before school entrances and yard duty, break duty, lunch duty, after school exit duty).
- Oversees conflict resolution and investigations within student affairs
- Program Oversight: Drug Screening, Bus Program, Security and Surveillance, Emergency Preparedness Program
- Manages teacher substitutions and communication
- Facilitates supervision of all co-curricular events (school events, athletics, etc)
- Manages HR onboarding of all new staff (i.e., administrators, teachers, coaches, etc)
- Manages the finances of each department in Student Affairs
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal
Professional Responsibilities:
Discipline/Attendance
- Oversees and supervises the Deans & Attendance Office
- Ensures proper disciplinary protocols are followed (infractions, contracts, etc) and attendance procedures (tardy and absent counts, contracts, etc)
Activities
- Supervises the Activities Director and the Student Activities program
- Supervises the Theater Arts Director and the associated program
- Supervises the Band Director and the associated program
- Encourages and monitors student and faculty participation in all student activities and co-curricular programs.
- Edit, type, and distribute the Daily Bulletin.
Facilities (Plant Management)
- Supervises Facilities Manager and Facilities Team
- Coordinates the calendar of Facilities Set-Up Requests (i.e., set-ups, use, maintenance rotation) with the Facilities Manager
- Oversees the management of campus facilities (Athletic Complex, Errion Gym, and Main Campus) and financial control of the budget and inventory of equipment
Operations
- Develops, implements, and monitors campus safety and emergency response plans and responses with the Dean of Students
- Coordinates the annual development of the School Calendar and Bell Schedule
- Collect Parent-Student Handbook Signed Agreements
- Plans and conducts regular fire drills and the annual earthquake drills with the administrative team
- Coordinates on-campus faculty/staff and student parking
- Manages the school locker system, assigns student lockers, and provides for the upkeep and maintenance of the lockers
- Coordinates the annual revision of the faculty and student handbooks
- Coordinates Human Resource material, employment verification, and clearance, ADLA requirements of all employees
- Supervises the Substitution Coordinator and assists with the substitution assignments.
- Coordinate Faculty/Staff accident reporting.
Requirements
Qualifications, Skills, Experience, Profile:
- BA or BS degree (required)
- MA in Education, administration, or management (preferred)
- High School leadership experience preferred
- Strong commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders.
- Strong initiative, organizational & time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Punctuality, and ability to attend off-campus events as necessary; weekend availability is required.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications as needed to perform job functions
Pay Range: $72,000-$98,000
- Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
