Description

Saint Monica Preparatory is seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal: Director of Student Services. This role focuses on the holistic development of students by overseeing a wide range of student-centered programs and initiatives. Working closely with the Principal and the administrative team, the Director collaborates with students, faculty, staff, and the broader community to support student growth both in and beyond the classroom. The position includes a teaching assignment and active involvement in strategic planning, curriculum development, and day-to-day programmatic leadership.

Position Responsibilities

Leadership & Oversight
*Supervise the following departments and personnel:

  • Student Activities
  • Campus Ministry
  • Academic and College Counseling
  • Experiential Learning

Student Engagement & Program Development

  • Promote active student participation in school life, activities, and programs.
  • Partner with the Director of Activities and ASB Commissioner of Clubs to support student clubs and ensure compliance with school expectations.
  • Oversee leadership and hospitality training for student leaders (e.g., class/club officers, team captains, leadership scholars, student ambassadors).
  • Coordinate on-campus initiatives that enhance student engagement and learning beyond the classroom.
  • Develop experiential learning opportunities, including internships and job placements, through strategic partnerships with community organizations and businesses.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience, and Abilities: The ideal candidate holds a Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related field (with a California Administrative Services Credential preferred), and has at least five years of secondary teaching experience. Three or more years of administrative or leadership experience in a Catholic school are strongly preferred. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, exceptional organization, and a collaborative leadership style. Candidates must demonstrate strong data management and spreadsheet skills, as well as experience using school information systems (e.g., PowerSchool) and learning management platforms (e.g., Google Classroom). A deep commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education is required.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles offers comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. All employees are enrolled in pension benefits from the time of employment and are considered vested after five years of full-time employment.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
