Description
The After-School Day Care Employee plays a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered environment for students after the regular school day. This individual supports the mission of the Catholic school by fostering spiritual growth, positive behavior, and respectful relationships among students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students during after-school hours.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including homework support, recreation, arts and crafts, and quiet time.
- Maintain a structured, calm, and positive environment rooted in Catholic values.
- Support students academically by assisting with homework and reinforcing classroom expectations.
- Promote kindness, respect, responsibility, and Christian character.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school administrators.
- Maintain accurate attendance and ensure proper student check-in and dismissal procedures.
- Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and diocesan guidelines.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
- Understanding of and commitment to Catholic education and values.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a warm, supportive, and structured environment.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Background clearance and fingerprinting as required.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
