As a Catholic School Employee, you are called to follow the example of Jesus, the Teacher (John 13:13). Job Summary: This full-time position requires an individual who is passionate about teaching and about student learning. Teachers at San Miguel School implement core instructional practices in every class. Teachers address individual needs through both small-group and individualized instruction. They allow for students to access the content through various learning tasks. Teachers are skilled in establishing strong relationships with students and creating learning opportunities that motivate and inspire students to develop academically.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach in the following subjects: English Language Arts, Religion, Science, Social Studies, Socio-Emotional Development, Art, and Music
  • Plan and implement curriculum;
  • Integrate technology into the curriculum following best practices;
  • Use behavior management systems that are effective with students with various learning needs;
  • Provide a positive environment that encourages students to actively participate in their own learning;
  • Provide effective and consistent communication with parents and principal regarding students’ behaviors, academic concerns, and progress
  • Advising students and working with students, parents, and other teachers to fully develop a picture of students’ strengths and learning needs
  • Regular and consistent communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, peers, and the community
  • Attend and participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school
  • Other requirements indicated in the Staff Handbook upon hiring

Requirements

The candidate must:

  • be a practicing Catholic
  • have a bachelor’s degree; however, an MA/MS and/or credential are preferred
  • have some experience in working with youth, preferably in a faith-based environment

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
