Description
We are seeking a dedicated and faith-filled 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher to join our faculty. This educator will serve as the primary teacher for a homeroom class, responsible for fostering both the academic and spiritual development of students. The position includes teaching Religion and Language Arts, guiding students in their faith formation, and creating a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes growth in virtue, responsibility, and academic excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the homeroom teacher, building a strong classroom community rooted in faith, respect, and accountability
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Language Arts
- Teach Religion curriculum in alignment with Catholic teachings and support students’ spiritual development
- Integrate faith and values across all areas of instruction and classroom life
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including direct instruction and student-centered learning, to support diverse learners
- Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction
Student Formation & Classroom Leadership:
- Model and promote Catholic values, virtues, and moral decision-making
- Support the social-emotional development of students through structured routines and clear expectations
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and ensure alignment across grade levels
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and faith-based activities
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Supervise students during assigned duties, including recess, lunch, and school events
- Support and attend grade-level activities, retreats, and field trips

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, committed to the mission of Catholic education
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid California Teaching Credential or currently working toward obtaining one
- Prior teaching experience preferred, particularly in upper elementary or middle school
- Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to create a structured, engaging, and faith-centered learning environment
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience teaching Language Arts and/or Religion
- Ability to integrate faith meaningfully into academic content
- Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
