Description
The classroom teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School supports the mission of Catholic education by fostering the intellectual, spiritual, and moral development of students.
The teacher models Catholic values and Christian living both inside and outside the classroom while maintaining a strong commitment to academic excellence.
The teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction in assigned subjects or grade levels, implementing the school’s mission and philosophy, and adhering to the policies of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Our Lady of Perpetual Help School.
The teacher reports directly to the principal and collaborates with faculty and staff to support student learning and school improvement.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and hold a CA Teaching Credential
Experience
- Previous teaching or instructional experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
- Practicing Catholic with a commitment to Catholic education and understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Demonstrates dedication to ongoing professional growth through coursework, workshops, conferences, and professional learning opportunities
- Maintains current CPR and First Aid certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other educational software
- Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education, including Google Classroom
- Ability to effectively integrate technology into instruction
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
