The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is pleased to present a special evening of sacred music on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 7:00pm, featuring the Cathedral Choirs performing Misa Azteca by Joseph Julián González.
Misa Azteca is a unique work that brings together the prayers of the Latin Mass with the rhythms and sounds of indigenous Mexican musical traditions. Written for choir, soloists, and traditional indigenous instruments, the music creates a moving experience that blends faith and culture in a way that is both beautiful and deeply prayerful.
This performance is especially meaningful for the Cathedral community, marking the first major presentation by the Cathedral Choirs in over five years. It is both a joyful return and a celebration of faith lived through the many cultures of Los Angeles, especially the immigrant and Latino communities whose faith and traditions continue to shape the life of the Church.
Join us for this unforgettable evening of music and prayer at the Cathedral.
