Today’s Teenager podcast
Today’s Teenager podcast is a free tool for parents, teachers and other caring adults to understand, reach and influence teenagers. Licensed counselor, Roy Petitfils, and his guests dive into the hard topics of child rearing like communication, bullying, depression and suicide, emotions, perfectionism, sexting, coping, cutting, accompanying LGBTQ teens and more. Raising teens is hard enough with the society changes brought on by fads, entertainment, the internet and social media. Take some of the pressure off of yourself and let Roy and his fellow experts walk you through raising an outstanding teenager.
The process of Encuentro for Hispanic/Latino ministry has been deeply ecclesial. It is motivated by reading the signs of the times and convened by the bishops, who call the Hispanic/Latino community to raise their voices. In the context of this dialogue among the bishops and the community, we live a spirit of pastoral ministry illuminated by an ecclesiological communion and missionary vocation that seeks to reach out to those who find themselves estranged from the life and vision of the Church. The main objective of the process of the Encuentro is to discern the way in which Hispanics/Latinos respond as Church.
At interlínc, everything we do is based on the belief that music is one of the most powerful forces affecting youth culture today. The quality of Christian music has greatly improved over the last few years, giving those in youth ministry the tools to match secular music. Today’s Christian music has not just the quality but also the content to impact students. Given a chance, it can encourage, convict and change lives.
Started in 1983 in the Word Records system, interlínc assists youth leaders in getting quality Christian music to their students. Our mission is to link the resources of the Christian music industry with the needs of your ministry.
We do not believe that Christian music should be the foundation of youth ministry. However, students consume 7.5 hours in entertainment media (music,TV, radio, internet) every day. How much of the solid Biblical teaching your students hear once or twice a week is challenged and mocked by the music they hear on a daily basis? You have the unique opportunity to build up instead of tear down your message through music.
As we make a journey in a new kind of desert, a desert without the public celebration of Mass, we remember that we still journey toward the Eucharist as the Source and Summit of our faith and wait for the day we will receive Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament again. Until then, you will find resources below to help you remain fed on God’s Word through the Sunday readings. Engage them with your family, friends, and small group communities. Share your story and journey with us on social media and remain connected to Sacred Scripture with weekly updates and resources – all of which you will find here.
